Metcalfe, Blainey & Burns LLP is a boutique law firm provides a wide range of legal services in areas such as real estate, corporate, commercial, wills & estates and litigation. We have a opening for a Legal Assistant to join our firm. This position is a replacement for an existing role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- provide secretarial support to lawyers and other legal staff in the company;
- preparing, reading, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents;
- Maintain case files and ensure deadlines are met for court filings and other important activities;
- collecting and analyzing information; organizing meetings; scheduling couriers;
- preparing invoices; preparing reports; tracking payments;
- maintaining calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, observing deadlines; reminders for deadlines and schedules;
- receiving clients; handling clients and other individuals by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or directing enquiries;
- Other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working within a law office is an asset
- Someone who can handle high volume.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills fluent in English, and must be able to speak, read and/or write Chinese.
