Program Supervisor
Lambton Rural Child Care (LRCC) is looking for an experienced and passionate Program Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our Corunna Child Care Centre.
The Program Supervisor provides leadership to staff, supports high-quality programming, builds strong relationships with children and families, and ensures the centre operates in accordance with Ministry of Education requirements, CCEYA regulations and LRCC policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the child care centre.
- Supervise, mentor and support Program Team Members.
- Develop staff schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels and Ministry ratios are maintained.
- Support and oversee quality, age-appropriate programming based on “How Does Learning Happen?”
- Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, schools and community partners.
- Respond to parent inquiries and assist with registrations and centre tours.
- Monitor and maintain required child, staff and program documentation.
- Ensure health, safety, sanitation and emergency procedures are followed.
- Ensure medical, allergy and individual support plans are current and communicated to staff.
- Conduct staff meetings, classroom inspections, playground inspections and fire drills as required.
- Support staff performance management, coaching, training and professional development.
- Communicate with the Program Director regarding operational, staffing, health and safety, and program concerns.
- Participate in agency meetings, training and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- 3–5 years of child care experience.
- 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably overseeing a team of five or more is considered an asset.
- Current Infant and Toddler First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and other required screening.
- Strong knowledge of Ministry of Education requirements and child care regulations.
- Excellent communication, organization and time-management skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A strong commitment to creating a safe, caring, welcoming and inclusive workplace for children and families.
