Sign Nation is looking for a hands-on Fabrication Lead to join our growing team in Newmarket.

We’re looking for an accomplished sign industry professional with the technical expertise, leadership skills, and practical judgment to help drive our fabrication department forward. The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on builder who can take ownership of complex projects, solve challenges decisively, and bring out the best in the people around them. They will set a strong example on the shop floor while ensuring that quality, efficiency, and accountability remain at the heart of everything we produce.

The ideal candidate will work alongside the fabrication team when required, while helping guide workflow, establish priorities, and maintain strong production standards.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of custom signs, wayfinding systems, branded environments, and specialty projects
- Read production drawings and details and build accurately to specification
- Help organize workflow and support production scheduling
- Troubleshoot fabrication and production challenges
- Collaborate closely with our design, project management, print, CNC, paint, assembly, and installation teams
- Identify potential fabrication issues early and help develop practical solutions
- Inspect & approve completed work before it is released for installation
- Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient shop
- Support occasional site work or installations when needed

Qualifications





- A minimum of five years of sign or closely related fabrication experience
- Strong experience in custom fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings and fabrication details
- A solid understanding of signage materials, construction methods, and installation
- Experience with CNC equipment, laser cutting, channel letter equipment, print finishing, vinyl application, or illuminated signage is an asset
- A valid G Class driver’s licence
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
- Aerial lift experience is an asset; Fall Arrest certification is preferred

Compensation and Schedule

- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- $65,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience
- Higher compensation may be available for candidates with solid sign industry leadership experience
- Compensation will reflect technical ability, leadership experience, and production scheduling capabilities
- Occasional overtime may be required to help the team meet production deadlines
