Who We Are

Hofmann Construction Ltd. is a family-run residential builder based in North Saanich. Since 2007, we have been building custom homes, additions, major renovations, and outdoor structures throughout Greater Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula.

Led by Red Seal carpenter Paul Hofmann, we are a small, hands-on team that values quality workmanship, honesty, reliability, and respect for our clients, their homes, and one another.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced residential carpenter who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a dependable, professional crew.

Our projects involve many different aspects of residential construction, from concrete and framing to exterior work, renovations, and finishing. You do not need to be equally experienced in every area, but you should have strong overall residential knowledge and be willing to learn where needed.

Paul works directly alongside the crew and keeps projects moving at a steady pace. We are looking for someone who pays attention, thinks ahead, stays productive, and notices what needs to be done without waiting for constant direction. Quality always matters, but so do efficiency, organization, and using our clients’ time and materials responsibly.

Because we often work in and around people’s homes, we also need someone who is friendly, respectful, clean, and easy to communicate with.

Skill and experience matter, but attitude matters just as much. We want someone who enjoys coming to work, brings a positive attitude to the crew, and genuinely wants to keep learning. We work hard and take our responsibilities to our clients seriously, but we also want the job site to be a place where people support one another, enjoy the day, and go home feeling proud of what they accomplished.

You Should:

- Have strong, hands-on residential carpentry experience




- Be comfortable working across different stages of a build or renovation
- Be able to read plans and understand residential construction sequencing
- Work steadily, take initiative, and follow direction
- Be reliable, punctual, organized, and prepared
- Take pride in accurate work and maintain a clean, orderly job site
- Communicate respectfully with clients, coworkers, subtrades, and designers
- Use time and materials thoughtfully and be open to learning
- Bring a positive attitude and enjoy contributing to a supportive team

This position requires meaningful hands-on residential construction experience. Commercial construction experience alone will not be considered equivalent.

Red Seal certification is an asset but is not required. Experience, good judgment, reliability, and work ethic matter most to us.

Requirements

- Proven residential carpentry experience
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Own basic hand tools
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties of residential construction
- Reliable attendance
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
