GE Quast Excavating is a well-established excavation contractor serving Ottawa and the surrounding area since 1985. We are seeking dependable, motivated General Labourers and Equipment Operators to join our team.

Positions & WagesGeneral Labourers

$25.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience.

Equipment Operators

Starting at $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

We are looking for experienced operators capable of operating:

- Excavators
- Backhoes
- Skid Steers

Responsibilities:

General Labourers

- Assist with excavation and site preparation
- Landscaping and grading
- Septic system installations
- Sewer and water service installations
- Demolition and site clean-up
- Operate hand tools and assist equipment operators
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite

Equipment Operators

- Safely operate excavators, backhoes, and skid steers
- Perform excavation, grading, loading, backfilling, and site preparation
- Assist with septic system installations and sewer and water service work
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Work safely around underground services, structures, and other crew members
- Assist with general site duties when required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite





QualificationsGeneral Labourers

- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid G Driver's Licence
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or excavation is an asset
- Experience with septic systems or heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team

Equipment Operators

- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, and/or skid steers
- Experience in excavation, construction, site servicing, septic systems, landscaping, or demolition is an asset
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment around workers, structures, and underground utilities
- Strong understanding of construction site safety
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
