Position summary
Department / Research Program: IDIGH (Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health) Program
Under the direction of Dr Momar Ndao, the incumbent will perform required molecular biology diagnostic testing and develop new one within the NRCP (National Reference Centre for Parasitology) team.
ROLE:
The incumbent will complete the molecular biology test according the established protocol.
General Duties
- Perform molecular biology test requested by the client ,
- Record results on database ,
- Develop new tests ,
- Genotyping ,
- Perform parasite culture from Biopsy ,
- Participate in common lab task ,
- Maintains inventory. Purchases necessary materials,
- Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the work area,
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge,
- Ensures compliance with ISO protocol guidelines ,
- Accomplishes any other tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Education / Experience
Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Sciences
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year
Required Skills
- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required,
as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Problem-solving skills,
- Attention to detail.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
