Penta Protective Coatings Ltd. is looking for a reliable and experienced Industrial Sealant & Caulking Applicator to join our field team in Winnipeg.

This is a hands-on construction position involving the removal and installation of commercial and industrial joint sealants and expansion joint systems. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, at ground level and at heights.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing clean, consistent work while maintaining a strong production rate. Both speed and quality are important in this position.

Responsibilities

- Remove existing caulking and joint sealants
- Clean, prepare and inspect joints prior to installation
- Remove loose material and contaminants from joint surfaces
- Install backer rod to the correct depth and profile
- Mask adjacent surfaces where required
- Apply commercial and industrial sealants using manual, pneumatic or battery-powered caulking guns
- Tool sealant to achieve a clean, consistent finished joint
- Install expansion joint systems
- Perform work on concrete, precast, masonry, metal and other building substrates
- Work from ladders, scaffolding and aerial work platforms
- Complete both interior and exterior work
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow site-specific and company safety procedures
- Meet daily production expectations without sacrificing workmanship

Qualifications

Preferred:

- Previous commercial or industrial caulking/sealant experience
- Experience with expansion joints, building-envelope work, waterproofing or concrete restoration
- Experience removing and replacing existing sealant
- Experience operating aerial work platforms and working at heights
- Familiarity with polyurethane, silicone and other commercial construction sealants

Applicants with strong construction experience and the ability to learn quickly may also be considered.

- $20.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated ability

Schedule

Primarily daytime construction hours. Hours may vary depending on project requirements, and some overtime, evening or weekend work may be required.

Work is currently available in Winnipeg and the successful applicant can start immediately.
