Primary Job Objective

The Sanitation & Production Artisan is a hands-on, hybrid role supporting both the sanitation and production needs of our food manufacturing facility.

The primary focus of this position is maintaining a clean, organized and food-safe production environment through detailed cleaning and sanitation of equipment, tools and manufacturing areas. The position will also support production by assisting with the assembly, filling, packaging and handling of Mitchell’s Soup products as required.

This role requires someone with exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a high personal standard for cleanliness.

Sanitation & Cleaning Accountabilities

- Clean and sanitize food production equipment, tools, workstations and production areas according to established sanitation procedures.
- Complete detailed cleaning of production equipment, including hard-to-reach areas and food-contact surfaces.
- Maintain clean floors, walls, shelving, sinks and other manufacturing areas.
- Follow chemical handling, dilution and sanitation procedures safely and accurately.




- Complete required sanitation records and checklists accurately.
- Identify and report areas requiring additional cleaning, maintenance or corrective action.
- Support equipment teardown and reassembly for cleaning and sanitation as required.
- Maintain cleaning tools, supplies and sanitation areas in an organized condition.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and inspection-ready manufacturing facility.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, allergen and workplace safety requirements.

Production Accountabilities

- Assist with the hands-on production, assembly and packaging of Mitchell’s Soup products.
- Follow recipes, production procedures and quality standards accurately and consistently.
- Rotate through production stations based on operational requirements.
- Support production setup, changeovers and end-of-day cleaning.
- Work cooperatively with the production team to achieve daily production goals.
- Maintain knowledge of and follow applicable Critical Control Point (CCP) and Quality Control Point (QCP) standards.
- Identify and communicate quality, food safety or production concerns to the appropriate Lead or Manager.
- Participate positively in Mitchell’s team culture and contribute wherever support is needed.

Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous food manufacturing,



commercial sanitation, production or industrial cleaning experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify areas requiring additional cleaning.
- Dependable, punctual and able to work independently.
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and complete documentation accurately.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn and work across both sanitation and production functions.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., performing repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
