About the Role

BCCOHP is seeking a permanent, full-time Development Lead, Quality Assurance to join our Quality Assurance team. This position will report to the Manager, QA & QA Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and facilitating the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the modernized Quality Assurance Program (QAP) across all Components, ensuring materials remain aligned with approved design, the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), Standards, policy, and operational reality.

This role serves as a collaborative bridge between the QA, Professional Advisor, Communications, and operational teams for content and guidance.

The Development Lead may function as a QA Officer under the HPOA to allow for sharing information of any escalations while otherwise maintaining QA confidentiality as defined under the HPOA.

Essential Duties

Content Integrity & Standards Alignment:

- Ensure all content and learning materials are aligned with the HPOA, bylaws, approved design, BCCOHP Standards, and supporting policies.
- Translate new, revised, or clarified Standards into QAP materials through approved governance pathways.
- Liaise with the Professional Advisor team for interpretive clarity when needed and convert outcomes into usable program language.
- Validate content accuracy prior to release and during periodic review cycles.

Continuous Improvement (Workplan Ownership):

- Build, maintain, and implement the annual QAP improvement workplan using inputs from internal teams and data.
- Obtain information from relevant parties to inform continuous improvement options, recommendations, and the proposed workplan.
- Synthesize inputs into the proposed annual improvement workplan(s), identify resourcing supports and projected timelines and present the workplan to the Manager, QA & QA Officer (the Manager).
- Manage the approved improvement workplan deliverables and keep the Manager apprised of potential barriers, risks, and/or delays.

Communications Content Support:

- Collaborate with the Program Lead, Quality Assurance (the Program Lead) and Communications to update materials and content as it relates to program updates or enhancements.
- Collaborate with the Program Lead and Manager to confirm operational feasibility and regulatory alignment before finalizing guidance update recommendations.
- Manage outdated QAP content, templates, and guidance to ensure only current materials are in use.

QA Assessor Enablement Support:

- Support the Program Lead by developing and maintaining Component C tools/assessments, templates, and content aids used in QA Assessor training and calibration.
- Provide content clarifications to support consistent application of approved tools and approaches.
- Deliver training and calibration sessions for QA Assessors on Component C processes, expectations, and regulatory decision frameworks in collaboration with the Program Lead.

Other Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the QA team (and other teams, as applicable) to develop components for the initial delivery of the modernized QAP.
- Support program operations and other duties as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

- Post-secondary education combined with a minimum of five years of work experience in a regulatory environment,



or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of regulation and the role of a regulator is an asset.
- Experience with quality assurance programming for regulated professionals is an asset.
- Experience with adult learning principles and assessments is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, web-based tools, electronic filing, content/document management, cloud-based applications and intranets along with advanced computer skills, including internet, phone, and video conferencing tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with a demonstrated ability to draft clear, professional correspondence and effectively engage with internal/external individuals.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and dependability are second nature.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Anti-racism and/or diversity, equity and inclusion training or equivalent self-directed training is an asset.
- Indigenous Cultural Safety training or equivalent self-directed training is an asset.
- Remote work experience and experience in a regulatory, not-for-profit environment or post-secondary environment is an asset.

Work Hours

BCCOHP's regular hours of business are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time permanent position, requiring 35 hours per week (7 hours per day).

Flexibility

BCCOHP offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement depending on the role and operational needs. The number of days required to be in office for this position is dependent on operational needs and workload.

We also offer core work hours between 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. The successful candidate may adjust their work day as long as they are working within the set core work hours, and depending on operational needs.

Total Compensation & Perks

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive compensation and benefits package. The annual salary range for this position is $85,638.38 to $ 92,774.92. The salary offered will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and education relative to the requirements of the role.
