We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Coding Instructor to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will inspire and guide students through the exciting world of programming, fostering their problem-solving skills and igniting their passion for technology. This position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while balancing other commitments. Your energy and expertise will help create an engaging learning environment where students can thrive and develop essential coding skills.
Responsibilities
- Follow the established Best Brains curriculum and provide clear, engaging instructions to students.
- Assist students whenever needed and provide guidance to help them understand programming concepts and complete assigned tasks.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and quickly resolve programming errors and coding issues.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, creativity, and perseverance.
- Provide personalized feedback and support to help students improve their programming skills and understanding.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, respectful, and motivating learning environment for all students.
- Encourage students to develop problem-solving, logical thinking, and independent coding skills.
- Collaborate with other instructors and center staff to continuously improve course content, teaching strategies, and delivery methods.
- Maintain professionalism and ensure that Best Brains teaching standards and classroom procedures are consistently followed.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree with prior experience.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in teaching or tutoring coding or related technical subjects
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Web development - HTML/CSS styling, and Scratch
- Passion for education and empowering learners through technology
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to motivate students and foster a supportive learning environment
- Nice-to-have: Experience working with diverse age groups or in informal educational settings
