Packaging Line Operator - 25kg Bags

Job Title: Packaging Operator
Location: Hamilton, ON
Starting Wage: $25.64 per hour
Night Shift Premium: Additional$2.00/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded Packaging Line Operator to run our high-volume 25kg bulk bagging line. In this role, you will be responsible for operating automated and semi-automated packaging equipment, performing quality checks, keeping product moving efficiently, and ensuring our packaging standards are met on every shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Line Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate 25kg bulk bagging machinery, heat sealers, industrial sewing heads, and conveyors.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct periodic weight verifications (25kg ± strict target tolerances), inspect bag seals for integrity, and verify batch coding/lot numbers.
- Material Management:



Load raw materials into feed hoppers and supply empty packaging bags to automated spouts.
- Maintenance & Cleanout: Clear minor equipment jams, assist with preventative maintenance, and perform thorough sanitation clean-outs during product changeovers.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications

- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or packaging environment (bulk powder or dry ingredient experience preferred).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and repetitively lift up to 55 lbs (25kg) throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift.
- Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude for clearing jams and line adjustments; basic math skills for tallying shift output and weight logs.
- Certifications: Forklift or motorized pallet jack certification is a strong plus (onsite training provided).

Pay: From $25.64 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
