Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and professional Part-Time Housekeeper / House Manager to help maintain a private, high-end family residence. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, highly organized, and understands the importance of discretion and privacy.

The role includes daily housekeeping, laundry, dishes, grocery and supply restocking, household shopping/ordering, and general home organization, with additional deep-cleaning and household tasks as time allows.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, part-time (half days), with all hours falling between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

The household is looking for someone dependable who can work independently, communicate clearly, take initiative, and treat the home, belongings, and family with the highest level of care and professionalism.

Duties

- Manage daily household routines, including cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces to maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness
- Location: Parkhill, Calgary AB
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, part-time, half days of approx. 4 hours
- Hours: Flexible morning or afternoon schedule, but all work must be completed between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Pay: $20-25/hour, with potential for a higher wage based on experience and demonstrated performance

Responsibilities

Housekeeping:

- General cleaning and upkeep of the residence
- Dusting and careful cleaning of furniture, surfaces, fixtures, and other household items
- Vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining floors using appropriate products and methods
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchens and bathrooms
- Dishwashing and keeping the kitchen tidy
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting items away
- Maintaining an organized and presentable home throughout the week

House Management:

- Monitoring household supplies and identifying when items need to be replenished




- Shopping for or ordering groceries, cleaning supplies, and other household necessities as instructed
- Restocking groceries and household items
- Keeping an eye on inventory so the household does not run out of commonly used items
- Helping with occasional organizational tasks around the home
- Communicating when supplies, repairs, maintenance, or other household needs require attention

Deep Cleaning & Additional Tasks:

- When regular housekeeping is complete and time allows, responsibilities may include:
- Deep dusting
- Cleaning inside ovens
- Cleaning inside refrigerators
- Detailed kitchen and bathroom cleaning
- Cleaning less frequently used areas
- Garage organization and cleaning
- Other reasonable household tasks as needed

Schedule & Flexibility

- The position is Monday through Friday, part-time/half days. There is some flexibility regarding whether the employee works primarily in the morning or afternoon.
- All hours will be between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM on weekdays. No evenings, weekends, or hours outside of this window are required.
- The exact schedule may occasionally need to be adjusted within this window based on the household's needs. We are looking for someone who can be flexible and communicate well about scheduling.

Household Setting

- This is a private family home with a baby, nanny, two cats, and a well-trained German Shepherd. The dog has both obedience and service-dog training and is comfortable in a household environment.
- Because there is a baby in the home, the successful candidate will need to be attentive to the household's schedule. For example, louder tasks such as vacuuming may need to be completed outside of nap times. This will be explained during training.
- The homeowner's wife works from home/is regularly at home with the baby, and a nanny is also present. We are therefore looking for someone who is self-directed and respectful of the household's privacy and routines. The expectation is that the housekeeper will be able to work independently without needing frequent supervision or interaction.

- We expect the highest level of professionalism, including respecting the family's privacy, maintaining confidentiality, and treating the home and its belongings with care.

Compensation

- The posted wage is the starting range for this position. Candidates with significant relevant experience, strong references, or demonstrated experience working in high-end private residences may be considered for a higher starting wage.
- Compensation may also increase based on consistently strong performance and reliability.
