Elmwood School Bistro is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Dishwasher/Prep Cook. This role is essential to keeping our kitchen running smoothly, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will be efficient, reliable, and passionate about working in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Wash and sanitize dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment using both dishwashers and by hand as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including counters, storage areas, and appliances.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Properly store dishes and utensils in designated areas.
- Follow all health and safety standards, including food handling and storage regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and organizing supplies and ingredients.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with school policies.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.
- Perform additional duties as required by the kitchen manager or head chef.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen support role is required.




- Ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and hygiene principles.
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs) when necessary
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Compensation and Schedule:

- Hourly Rate: Contract position, $20/hour
- Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 7 am - 4 pm with the possibility of extended hours
