The Chilko Experience is a boutique wilderness lodge in British Columbia's Chilcotin region — an off-the-beaten-path place where guests come for untouched nature, wildlife, fine dining, and a truly personal experience. We host small groups (typically 12–16 guests) and take pride in warm, thoughtful service and a polished guest experience from arrival to departure.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced, organised and hands-on Head of Hospitality & Housekeeping to lead and maintain standards across two of our most guest-facing departments. This is a working leadership role — you'll be on the floor alongside your team, working shifts across both hospitality and housekeeping, while also taking responsibility for the operational management of your department.
This position commences in late April or early May 2027, running through to October. We are also hoping to find someone available to visit the lodge for a month or so this season (September through to October 20th, 2026) to get a feel for the place, meet the team and settle in ahead of next year. This is not a requirement, but it would be a wonderful opportunity and we'd highly encourage it if you're available.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Standards
- Lead, support and oversee a team of 4–6 hospitality and housekeeping staff
- Maintain and uphold high standards across both departments at all times
- Create and manage staff rosters and schedules
- Support and mentor team members in their day-to-day roles
Hospitality
- Work shifts behind the bar and across front of house, providing warm and skilled service to guests
- Maintain and manage bar inventory, guest snacks and all related stock
- Communicate guest dietary requirements with chef & team
- Ensure the bar and hospitality areas are always presented to the highest standard
- Hold or be willing to obtain all required alcohol & food service certifications for British Columbia
Housekeeping
- Oversee and participate in the cleaning and preparation of guest accommodation and communal areas to a luxury standard
- Manage housekeeping inventory and ensure cleaning products and supplies are adequately stocked at all times
- Maintain a consistent and thorough approach to cleanliness and presentation throughout the lodge

- Detail-oriented with high standards and a genuine pride in your work
- Comfortable living and working in a remote wilderness environment
