Summary

Renova Home Health Care Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to support our in-home physiotherapy services. This is a mobile, community-based position that requires the successful candidate to independently travel and drive from one client’s home to another to provide scheduled services. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with regular travel between client locations. Please note that driving time and travel expenses between client homes are not covered or reimbursed. Working under the direction of a licensed Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapy Assistant will assist clients with prescribed therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation programs in their homes while promoting safety, independence, and functional recovery.
Responsibilities

- Assist the Physiotherapist in implementing individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Guide clients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, mobility training, strengthening, balance, and range-of-motion activities.
- Monitor clients during treatment sessions and report any changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physiotherapist.
- Educate clients and family members on home exercise programs as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of all client visits and progress.




- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to infection prevention and control standards.
- Collaborate with the Physiotherapist and other members of the care team to support positive client outcomes.
- Follow all company policies, professional standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Travel to clients' homes within the Edmonton area.
- Qualifications
- Diploma or recognized education as a Physiotherapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant.
- Previous experience in community care, home care, rehabilitation, long-term care, hospital, or acute care is considered an asset.
- Robust understanding of physiotherapy treatment techniques and safe client handling practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Compassionate, reliable, and client-focused approach to care.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
