Current Studios is looking for a passionate 3D Character Animator to join the team in our Halifax office or to work from home.

You’re a passionate animator, able to work well in a fast-paced, ultra- agile team workplace. You’re excited by the challenge of building content for cutting-edge interactive experiences. You’re self-motivated, good at problem-solving and eager to learn new skill-sets and methods required to expand your knowledge

3D Character Animator– Key Responsibilities

- Strong 3D character animation fundamentals, with a good eye for timing, weight, posing, body mechanics, and performance.
- Experience animating characters from reference.
- Experience cleaning, editing, and polishing motion-capture animation.
- Understanding of mocap retargeting and adapting captured performances to different character rigs and proportions.
- Ability to correct foot sliding, contact issues, jitter, intersections, unnatural poses,



and other mocap artifacts.
- Ability to enhance mocap with hand-keyed animation, improving poses, gestures, weight, timing, and character performance.
- Experience blending animations and creating smooth, believable transitions between motion clips.
- Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or equivalent character-animation software.
- Experience preparing animation for real-time engines is an added bonus.
