We are seeking a motivated and experienced AZ Cross Border Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across international borders, primarily between the United States and Canada, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with all safety regulations. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will be essential to maintaining smooth operations and high standards of safety. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks equipped for cross-border freight transportation, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Manage the loading and unloading of freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, addressing any mechanical issues or automotive repairs needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Complete all necessary documentation for cross-border shipments, including customs paperwork, delivery logs, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, customs officials, and clients to ensure smooth border crossings and timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of freight movements, vehicle maintenance, and operational activities throughout each shift.
- Operate heavy equipment safely within warehouse or yard environments when required for freight handling or yard management.
Experience
- Proven experience as an AZ driver with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) suitable for cross-border transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures, including loading/unloading techniques and cargo securement standards.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues during trips or at the yard.
- Prior experience navigating border crossings between the U.S. and Canada is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and cross-border logistics.
