Job Overview:

Join SafeSide Atlantic as an Assistant Manager - Operations and lead our team in delivering excellence across two specialized service sectors. In this dynamic part-time role, you will oversee daily operational activities at our DATAC-certified drug and alcohol testing facility and our ACS-certified ignition interlock service centers in Moncton and Fredericton. You will ensure seamless workflows, rigorous compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and ACS standards, and exceptional service quality. Your proactive approach and strategic mindset will empower our team to maintain the highest standards of specimen collection, chain of custody procedures, interlock device calibration, and regulatory adherence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your managerial skills in specialized, fast-paced environments where precision, compliance, and customer satisfaction are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee daily operational activities at our drug and alcohol testing facility, ensuring smooth execution of specimen collection (urine, oral fluid, breath alcohol, and hair testing)

● Coordinate with BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) and Specimen Collector staff to meet service standards and maintain specimen integrity throughout chain of custody procedures

● Monitor testing volumes, lab turnaround times, and operational metrics; generate compliance reports to identify process improvements and ensure DOT/FMCSA standards are consistently met

● Coordinate with lab partners (Dynacare and Omega Laboratories) to ensure timely and accurate test results while managing specimen shipping and documentation

● Manage day-to-day operations at Moncton ignition interlock service center, ensuring compliance with ACS (Alcohol Countermeasure Systems) Service Centre Agreement requirements and provincial regulations





● Oversee device installation, maintenance, recalibration, and removal procedures; coordinate scheduling to ensure clients meet court-ordered timelines.

● Monitor device performance data, maintain accurate client records, and generate reports on violation incidents and device compliance status

● Ensure proper handling of sensitive client information related to DUI programs, license reinstatement, and court-ordered monitoring Cross-Functional Operations

● Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of certified staff members in DATAC protocols, ACS procedures, and regulatory requirements

● Implement and enforce safety protocols, compliance policies, and legal regulations specific to both drug/alcohol testing and ignition interlock services

● Resolve operational issues promptly by analyzing root causes and deploying effective solutions while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance

● Collaborate across all service centres to optimize resource allocation, scheduling, and workflow efficiency for operations

Requirements & Qualifications:

● Proven experience in operations management, preferably within drug and alcohol testing, occupational health, DUI/rehabilitation services, or compliance-focused industries

● Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple service modalities, and maintain accurate compliance documentation





● Strong English communication and interpersonal skills to work with our team and manage client relationships with sensitivity to DUI/rehabilitation and drug testing contexts, a in a regulated environment. French considered an asset.

● Ability to analyze operational data, generate compliance reports, and make informed decisions quickly in time-sensitive, regulated industries

● Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented attitude toward regulatory and client satisfaction challenges

● Familiarity working with confidentiality requirements is highly valued
