Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, versatile, and detail-oriented 3 ot 4 level Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or Journey Person to join our team. This position offers a highly stable, stable day-shift schedule working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm. In this role you will perform advanced diagnostics, complex system overhauls, and preventative maintenance across a diverse portfolio. Responsibilities are split dynamically between heavy diesel machienery and high-precision golf turf machienery, specifically optimizing elite Baroness cutting systems to professional fairway specifications.
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service and overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on ASV compact track loaders and Yanmar industrial equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair advanced hydrostatic drive systems, track tensioning systems, and multi-deck commercial zero-turn mower structures
- Interpret electrical schematic, hydraulic flow charts, and use computerized OEM diagnostic software to pinpoint engine and system faults
- Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance checks, safety structural inspections, and accurately complete digital service reports
- Conduct equipment test runs and post-repair operational quality checks to guarantee total compliance with performance benchmarks
- Perform relief sharpening, and exact height-of-cut calibrations unique to Baroness commercial golf turf machinery
- Maintain a clean,
professional, and safe service bay environment while strictly complying with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations
Qualification & Requirements
- Certification: Valid Interprovincial Red Seal 3 or 4 level or Provincial Journey Person Heavy Duty Equipment Technician credential preferred (Advanced Apprentices near completion fully considered)
- Experience: Min 3-5 years of hands-on experince servicing diesel engines, heavy hydraulics, or commercial turf fleets
- Specialized Skillsets: Demonstrable experience with precision reel mower grinding, cutting-unit alignment, and fine turf adjustments is highly valued
- Brand Familiarity: Prior experience working with Baroness, ASV, Yanmar, or Ferris machinery lines is considered a major asset
- Tools: Possession of a complete set of personal hand tools up to standard heavy mechanic requirements
- Licensing: Valid Class 5 Canadian driver's license with a clean commercial driving abstract and a passport
- Attributes: Strong independent problem-solving skills, extreme dedication to precision tuning, and an excellent team-first attitude
