Our client, an established diamond drilling contractor supporting major mining operations throughout Ontario, is looking for experienced Surface Diamond Drillers to join their growing team.
With long-term contracts, modern equipment and a strong base of work in the Sudbury area, our client offers opportunities for both local and out-of-town work. Employees have access to a variety of rotations depending on project requirements and existing crew schedules.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating surface diamond drilling equipment, completing drilling activities to project specifications and supporting the ongoing maintenance and performance of drilling equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Operate surface diamond drilling equipment to safely and efficiently extract core.
· Monitor drilling operations and make adjustments as required to maintain productivity and drilling performance.
· Follow all company, client and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
· Complete routine inspections, maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
· Identify and troubleshoot equipment or drilling issues as they arise.
· Maintain accurate drilling records and required documentation.
· Work collaboratively with drilling assistants, supervisors and other site personnel.
· Maintain a clean, organized and secure work area.
· Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with company standards.
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 2 years of diamond drilling experience.
· Surface Common Core 770200 is an asset; modular training can be provided for experienced candidates who do not currently hold the Ontario certification.
· Valid driver's licence.
· First Aid certification.
· WHMIS and 4-Step Awareness training.
· Strong commitment to safe work practices.
· Ability to work rotational schedules and travel to project locations as required.
· Ability to successfully complete required drug testing.
