Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our food services team at Sidney All Care Residence. In this role, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents. Your contribution will support our mission of providing meaningful relationships and exceptional caregiving.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Cooks and prepares breakfast, lunch, diner, special dietary items, catering items, snacks according to direction and by following menus and recipes;
- Ensures that all food is prepared and portioned as outlined;
- Ensures that sanitation and safety standards are maintained during food preparation and production;
- Receives deliveries and checks for damage, quantity and quality and validates receipts as ordered.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Current Food safe level 1;
- Must have a minimum of 2 years related work experience with a preference in a Residential Care Community kitchen working with seniors;
- Must have the ability to communicate tactfully and maturely when interacting with residents, staff, suppliers, volunteers, and the family and guests of our residents;
- Must have an understanding of texture modifications, allergies and food sensitivities
Please note: *A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable seniors. TB test is required.
