Our current opening is for a Apprentice 7 AXIS Machinist.
This position assists Sr. Gun-drill Operators in the creation of machine parts and tools using precision computer equipment. You will learn to set up, adjust and maintain all equipment used in your daily job activities, as well as, create programming instructions for the parts you cut and inspect the finished products to ensure they all meet specifications.
CNC Machine: 7 Axis Cheto Gun-drill
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist in the setting up of switches, tool registers and offsets
· Assist in the operation of CNC Machining Centers to cut various sizes of metal work pieces
· Help develop cutter path programs
· Learn to program computerized equipment to adjust for particular job specifications
· Assist in regularly scheduled maintenance of all precision computer equipment
to reduce downtime
· Learn to inspect and test finished products to ensure it meets all specifications
· Create, save, and update programming documentation
· Consistently model professional and friendly customer service to all employees,
customers, and vendors
· Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and establish relationships,
credibility, and trust with all levels of employees within the organization
Skills and Qualifications:
· Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
· Diploma from a Machining or Tool Making program is an asset
· Minimum one years’ experience programming, setting up and operating 7 Axis CNC
· Able to operate drills, lathes and milling equipment effectively
· Strong understanding of schematics and blueprints
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Able to work with/without supervision
· Proficient data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Able to read and write English

Starting wage is $25 an hr; wage and benefits to be discussed at three month review.
