Wilderness Vans is an internationally recognized custom van builder looking for an an electrical and 12v automotive specialist to join our team. This unique position will be involved with up fitting all types of adventure vehicle builds for clients. There will be a wide variety of duties ranging from rough in and final wiring of various 12 volt components including wiring solar panels and lighting on roof racks, installing interior lighting, fridges, inverters and other RV accessories.

A successful candidate must have several years of mechanical and electrical aptitude in wiring and understanding of electricity as it relates to the automotive, boating and/or the RV industry.

Must be a self-starter and possess the desire for continuous learning and staying on top of innovations in an ever changing and exciting industry.

Primary responsibilities will include:

- Installing auxiliary 12v battery systems, working off of wiring diagrams. Have a knowledge of AGM and Lithium batteries.

- Installing auxiliary interior lighting as well as exterior off road lighting, water pumps, fans, charge controllers.

- Must be able to build and read wiring diagrams, circuits and clearly label all system components.

- Install, diagnose and repair 110V AC wiring, 110 receptacles, inverters, shore power plugs, generators.

- Install roof racks with electrical components such as solar, lighting, cellular boosters etc.

- Remove and re-install factory components such as interior trim, bumpers, headliners etc without damage.

- Install, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems on both diesel and gas heaters

- Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly

- Communicate with management and service advisors regarding job progress and report any issues in a timely manner





- Clearly and accurately document vehicle concerns and recommendations on work order

Experience:

- Experience with AC and DC power

- Experience with car audio

- Electrical Systems Designer/Installer: Must have advanced knowledge of 12volt, 110 volt systems. Including solar, lithium batteries, inverters, battery monitoring systems, USB ports, 110 receptacles, cabin lighting, exterior lighting including, 12 volt switches etc.

- Heating & Cooling units: Experience and knowledge of complete heating systems and cooling systems including fans, duct work, thermostats and control panels.

- Installing exterior accessories such as power steps, LED light bars, cell boosters, winches, and air compressors, etc.
