The position at a glance

The Analytics Lab is BNP Paribas CIB's center of excellence in AI/Machine Learning, responsible for spearheading the bank's AI transformation initiatives. In detail

The role of AI/ML Specialist involves the following responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and rigorously evaluate AI/ML solutions that are aligned with the bank’s overall strategy and goals.
- Work with the business to translate their requirements into high-impact AI/ML solutions.
- Stay current with the latest technical developments in the fields of GenAI, AI, and ML and identify opportunities to apply those at the bank.
- Communicate technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a explicit and concise manner.
- Collaborate with internal clients to identify new opportunities for ML applications and models.
- Work with Application Development teams to deploy and support ML models in production environments.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

- Master’s degree or above in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or Mathematics).
- Professional working proficiency in English language is required
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience contributing to data science, machine learning, deep learning, or GenAI projects in Python. In particular :
- Demonstrable portfolio of data science / machine learning projects.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch) and/or GenAI/Agentic frameworks (e.g., transformers, langchain/langgraph, llamaindex, OpenAI Agents SDK, crewAI).
- Command of at least one data analysis and processing library (e.g., pandas, SQL, Spark, Dask).
- Experience with visualization libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly).

- Experience with version control (git), Linux environment, and command-line interfaces.
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge English and French is required.
- Strong work ethic and ability to deal with confidential information





Nice-to-have Qualifications:

- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience with modern RAG techniques.
- Experience parsing complex documents.
- Experience in deploying models to production.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Jenkins, …) and MLOps (MLFlow).
- Experience with containerization techniques (Docker & Kubernetes).
- Experience with mentoring junior team members.

- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English language is required.
