Job Title: Early Childhood Educator – FSCD Contract (1:1 Support for Child with Autism)

Location: Beverly Day Care Society and Family Resource Centre, Edmonton AB

Position Type: Part-time (Contract)
Schedule: Mon, Tues, Weds & Fri 3:00pm–5:15pm; Thurs 2:00pm–5:15pm; PD Days/School Breaks 8:00am-5:00pm
Contract Start Date: September 1, 2025
Contract Duration: Ongoing based upon FSCD approval

About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to work 1:1 with a 8-year-old boy with autism through a Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) contract. This role involves supporting his participation in an OSC program, implementing individualized strategies, and fostering his social, emotional, and developmental growth. Since the child's school does not provide buses to our location the parents would like to find someone with a vehicle who can pick the child up from school and bring him to the daycare where they will work 1:1 with the child until the parents pick him up.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide transportation from the school to the daycare. (Approx 3 min drive)
- Provide direct, individualized support to the child in both group and one-on-one settings.
- Implement strategies outlined in his FSCD service plan, in collaboration with therapists and the family.
- Support skill development in communication,



self-regulation, social interaction, and daily routines.
- Adapt activities to meet his needs while promoting independence and engagement.
- Maintain open communication with the family, and staff.
- Document observations, progress, and strategies used.

Qualifications

- Early Childhood Education Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.
- Previous experience supporting children with autism or developmental needs is required.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and inclusive practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
