Legal Assistant Required
Smith & Little LLP is currently recruiting for a full-time Legal Assistant in Calgary. Smith & Little assists clients in resolving disputes with integrity and informed decision making. Our services are designed to guide clients through legal processes with transparent, transparent and predictable pricing structures.
The ideal candidate for this position will be highly motivated, a great communicator verbal and written, organized and service orientated. Confidentiality and discretion are paramount in this role, along with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and education requirements:
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities include:
-Preparation of standard Family Law materials
-Prepare, proofread and manage legal documents and correspondence
-Drafting, revising, scanning and maintaining all files
-File legal documents with the court along with managing case files
- Processing highly confidential information
- Managing calendar, schedules and meetings
- Providing excellent client service
- Adhering to all practice and policies as set forth by Smith & Little
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
-Fielding /managing and responding to general questions
Education & Experience
-Legal assistant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
- 1-2 years’ experience in Family Law, we also welcome recently graduating students to apply
- Analytical, time management and organization skills required
- Strong computer skills, excellent keyboarding skills (typing), MS office, word, excel and power point
