Fountainhead Mechanical is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Journeyman HVAC/R Service Technician to join our commercial service team in Calgary.

This is a service-based position for a skilled HVAC and refrigeration professional with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair experience.

The successful candidate will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. You will work independently in the field while receiving strong support from our office, dispatch, and leadership teams.

The base wage for this position is $54.00 per hour. Dual-ticketed technicians with a Gasfitter Class A certification may qualify for an additional premium on top of the hourly wage.

What You Will Do

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial HVAC and A/C Equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Diagnose refrigerant circuit, compressor, airflow, electrical, and control issues
- Service rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, make-up air units, unit heaters, and related equipment
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning, refrigeration systems, compressors, controls, and electrical components
- Recover, evacuate, charge, and verify refrigeration systems according to applicable regulations and industry practices
- Troubleshoot motors, fans, belts, bearings, pumps, valves, sensors, safeties, and control components
- Complete equipment startups, system testing, and performance verification
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, control schematics,



and sequence-of-operation documents
- Identify system problems and recommend appropriate repair solutions
- Complete accurate service documentation and digital reports
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatch, office staff, and teammates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
- Follow applicable codes, safety requirements, and company procedures
- Represent Fountainhead Mechanical's culture and values on every customer site

Who We Are Looking For

- Alberta Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification or an equivalent recognized trade qualification
- Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration service experience
- Advanced knowledge of refrigeration diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
- Strong understanding of refrigerant circuits, compressors, controls, electrical components, and airflow
- Ability to accurately diagnose complex HVAC and refrigeration equipment issues
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with commercial preventative maintenance and service work
- Knowledge of applicable codes, refrigerant regulations, and safe work practices
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and equipment documentation
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Valid driver's licence and a clean, insurable driving record
- Ability to reliably commute to Calgary or relocate before starting work

Gasfitter Class A Premium

A Gasfitter Class A certification is considered a strong asset.

Dual-ticketed Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics with a valid Gasfitter Class A certification may qualify for an additional premium on top of the $54.00 hourly wage.

Gasfitter Class A experience may include:

- Diagnosing and servicing commercial gas-fired HVAC equipment
- Troubleshooting burners, ignition systems, gas trains, flame safeguards, and safety controls
- Performing combustion analysis and interpreting test results
- Servicing indirect-fired make-up air units
- Reading wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequence-of-operation documents




- Completing gas-related work in accordance with applicable codes and certification requirements

Additional Experience Considered an Asset

- Chilled-water hydronic systems
- Commercial cooling towers
- Indirect-fired make-up air units
