Accounts Payable Clerk

Wage: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Excel Personnel is recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for a well-established construction company in Kamloops, BC.

This is a permanent, in-person opportunity for someone who is confident handling high-volume accounts payable and enjoys working in a busy, team-oriented environment. You’ll be responsible for approximately 500 invoices per month, along with purchase orders, vendor reconciliations, job cost coding and other day-to-day accounting functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Process approximately 500 invoices per month
- Review and match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Complete AP documentation and accurate job cost coding
- Enter and post accounts payable transactions
- Prepare cheque runs and supporting documentation
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare GST and PST returns
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized AP records
- Provide general accounting and administrative support as required

What We’re Looking For

- Minimum three years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, reconciliations and bookkeeping practices
- Experience processing invoices and working with purchase orders
- Experience with job cost coding
- Strong data-entry skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail




- Ability to organize and prioritize a high volume of work while meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sage 300 CRE experience is an asset; training can be provided

Hours of Work

Hours vary seasonally with the construction season:

- April through November: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week)
- December: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
- January through March: Four days per week, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (30 hours per week)

All schedules include a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Compensation & Perks

- $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Two weeks of vacation to start
