Responsibilities
The Research Associate will be responsible for preparing to publication quality musical examples working from sixteenth-century part-books and notation and preparing to publication quality music scores/practical editions working from sixteenth-century part-books and foreign texts.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline
Experience:
- 3 years of working experience
- Music editing experience to level of publication and performance
- Demonstrated experience as a research assistant
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Familiarity with early music performance and research
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant music editing tools
- Familiarity with Western University research policies and practices
- Communication skills to interact with research team
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems
