About the Opportunity
A growing, privately held company is seeking an organized and dependable Payroll & Administrative Coordinatorto join its team.
This is a varied, hands-on position with a primary focus on payroll administration, along with general administrative and business support. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, able to learn new systems quickly, and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll.
- Review payroll information for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain employee payroll records and related documentation.
- Assist with payroll changes, deductions, adjustments, and other routine payroll administration.
- Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
- Maintain accurate and organized employee and company records.
- Prepare and organize forms, correspondence, reports, and internal documents.
- Assist with document organization, tracking, filing, and record maintenance.
- Coordinate signatures, approvals, and document distribution.
- Provide general administrative support to the team.
- Assist with employee documentation and other routine HR-related administrative tasks.
- Support onboarding and employee record administration as required.
- Respond to routine internal inquiries and coordinate follow-up as needed.
- Assist with special projects and process improvements.
- Perform other related duties based on the needs of the organization.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounting administration, office administration, or a related role.
- Payroll experience is preferred.
- Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related area is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive, as well as other business software.
- Comfortable learning new systems and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive compensation of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Employer-paid extended health and dental coverage after 90 days of continuous employment.
