About the Role

Montreal College of Information Technology (MCIT) is launching an advanced diploma program in Agentic AI Systems Engineering. We are seeking a Lead Instructor to facilitate live, peer-level technical discussions and guide senior engineers as they build and deploy production-grade autonomous AI systems.

We are seeking a long-term Faculty Lead & Subject Matter Expert to take true ownership of this division. As with any newly launched program, initial enrollments and cohort frequencies will build over time. We are specifically looking for loyalty and a long-term commitment—a technical partner who will stay continuously engaged with MCIT across active cohorts and during non-teaching gaps as we scale the program together.

You will lead peer-level technical sessions for working professionals (Software Engineers, ML Engineers, Data Scientists with 5–10+ years experience), drive curriculum maintenance between cohorts, and help design MCIT’s expanding AI course catalog.

Our students are experienced technical professionals including Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Scientists with 5–10+ years of experience. This role focuses on architectural guidance, code reviews, and hands-on lab leadership, not basic programming syntax.

Key Responsibilities

Experience in technical training, curriculum design, workshop facilitation, or university teaching.

- Live Instruction: Deliver engaging online evening sessions focusing on applied system design, orchestration, and live coding.
- Curriculum Delivery: Guide students through single-agent loops, advanced RAG, tree-of-thought reasoning,



multi-agent frameworks, guardrails, and observability.
- Curriculum & Program Evolution:
- Actively review, refine, and update the Agentic AI Systems Engineering course outline to reflect rapid industry shifts in autonomous frameworks, RAG, and observability.
- Propose, scope, and help design new cutting-edge AI courses and micro-credentials that MCIT can deliver to meet enterprise demand.
- Serve as the core technical authority on tools, libraries, and hands-on lab environments used across the program.
- Capstone Mentorship: Provide technical oversight as students build end-to-end multi-agent capstone projects.

Core Requirements

- Location: Must reside in Canada and hold valid Canadian work authorization.
- Industry Experience: 5+ years of software/AI production experience, currently serving as a Lead AI Engineer, Senior ML Engineer, AI Solutions Architect, or Principal Engineer.
- Agentic Frameworks: Hands-on experience building workflows using LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
- RAG & Vector DBs: Working knowledge of embeddings, hybrid search, and vector databases
- Observability & Safety: Practical experience with evaluation, tracing, and safety tools (e.g., LangSmith, TruLens, Guardrails AI, Arize Phoenix).
- Communication: Ability to facilitate high-level architectural trade-off discussions with senior technical peers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in technical training, workshop facilitation, mentoring, or university teaching.
- Contributions to open-source agentic AI toolkits or published technical content.
