As the Human Resources Generalist, you will own and administer HR processes, provides first-level HR guidance, and support managers by delivering core human resources services. Reporting to Director of Finance & HR, you will be a key member of our corporate operations team and will ensure best-in-class support for internal employees while maintaining legal and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, benefits, employment standards, and workplace matters.
- Maintain and update the internal policy and procedures manual and communicate changes effectively across the organization.
- Provide guidance to managers on the consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, workplace conduct, and corrective action, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Support workplace investigations and the documentation of employee relations matters.
- Coordinate full-cycle internal recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer preparation.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including employment agreements, job descriptions, advantages enrollment, orientation, exit documentation, and exit interviews.
- Maintain accurate and complete employee files and HR records in accordance with legislation and company policies.
- Prepare employment-related correspondence, documentation, and HR communications.
- Coordinate performance review processes and provide managers with tools and support to complete reviews effectively.
- Maintain current job descriptions and organizational charts.
- Coordinate internal training,
orientation, and professional development programs and maintain training records.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including employee recognition, anniversaries, surveys, and internal communications.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Process bi-weekly payroll for internal staff, accurately and on time.
- Ensure payroll compliance with provincial / federal regulations and internal policies.
- Coordinate HR-related payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and other employee changes.
- Liaise with payroll and benefits providers to resolve employee inquiries and ensure accurate administration.
- Assist with annual benefits renewals and employee communications.
- Conduct salary surveys and provide compensation benchmarking information to support internal compensation decisions.
- Maintain accurate records related to vacation, leaves of absence, benefits, and other employee programs.
- Coordinate with the finance team for reporting and reconciliation needs.
HR Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare regular HR reports and metrics, including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, tenure, recruitment activity, and other key indicators.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, documentation, and the employee experience.
- Maintain HRIS records and ensure data integrity.
- Support annual HR initiatives, including compensation reviews, performance reviews, employee surveys, policy reviews, and workforce planning.
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Monitor compliance with applicable employment standards, human rights, workplace legislation, and company policies across relevant provinces.
- Support the administration of workplace health and safety programs and employee communications.
- Coordinate mandatory training and certification tracking.
- Assist with HR-related audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.
- Maintain HR calendars and ensure recurring compliance and employee lifecycle activities are completed on time.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive human resources experience, ideally in a generalist role; staffing industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights legislation, occupational health and safety requirements, and payroll practices, with experience supporting employees across multiple provinces considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess situations and recommend practical solutions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems; ADP or similar experience is an asset.
- CHRP designation or actively working toward designation is an asset.
