Senior Sales Associate – Contemporary Art Gallery

Vancouver | Full Time I Contract

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Sales Associate to join our contemporary art gallery in the heart of Vancouver.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about art, enjoys working with people, and is confident building relationships with collectors and clients. You’ll play an active role in sales, client relationships, and the day-to-day running of the gallery.

The right person will have a robust knowledge of art history, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to engage with a sophisticated and international clientele.

What You’ll Do

- Welcome and provide outstanding service to gallery visitors and collectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and collectors.
- Talk confidently with clients about artists, exhibitions, and artworks.
- Take an active role in the sales process, including client follow-up and closing sales.
- Manage client inquiries and accounts.
- Help with artwork handling, packaging, shipping, and inventory.
- Assist with social media and digital communications.
- Help keep the gallery organized, welcoming, and beautifully presented.
- Represent the gallery in a professional and personable way.

What We’re Looking For





- A genuine passion for contemporary art and a good understanding of art history.
- Several years experience in art sales.
- BFA or equivalent art-related education, completed or in progress.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Confident and comfortable working with sophisticated and international clients.
- Professional, personable, organized, and self-motivated.
- Available to work weekends.
- Physically able to safely handle delicate artwork weighing up to 50 lbs, including lifting, moving, packaging, and preparing works for shipment.

Nice to have: Mandarin, French, or Spanish; experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, other image-editing software, website management, or digital content.

Compensation

Starting at $26 per hour

Yearly Bonus based on achieving sales goals.
