LN Land Development Technologies is looking for motivated Geotechnical / Materials Testing Technicians to join our Fort McMurray team.
This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on field work, have strong attention to detail, and want to build or continue their career in geotechnical and construction materials testing .
You'll support a variety of construction, civil, and infrastructure projects by completing field and laboratory testing, documenting results, and working closely with contractors, clients, and project teams to help ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials
- Complete soil compaction and field density testing
- Perform concrete testing, including slump, air content, temperature, and preparation of test specimens
- Collect soil, aggregate, concrete, and other construction material samples
- Assist with or complete laboratory materials testing
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with project specifications and quality requirements
- Accurately document field observations, test results, and project information
- Prepare clear and detailed field reports and testing documentation
- Communicate testing results and potential concerns to supervisors and project teams
- Coordinate testing activities with contractors and other field personnel
- Operate, maintain, and care for testing equipment
- Travel to various project and construction sites as required
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain LN's standards for safety, accuracy, quality, and customer service
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Diploma or post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Previous experience in geotechnical, materials testing, construction, civil, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with soil, concrete, aggregate, or construction materials testing is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work
- Strong mathematical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately complete field documentation and reports
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage changing priorities
- Solid team player who can also work independently in the field
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Comfortable working around active construction sites and heavy equipment
- Physically able to perform field testing and handle testing equipment and materials
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and various schedules based on project requirements
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and meet applicable client/site access requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS
- Previous geotechnical or construction materials testing experience
- Experience with nuclear density gauges
- Current Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety certification
- CCIL, CSA, ACI, or other recognized materials testing certifications
- Concrete, soil, and aggregate testing experience
- Experience working on civil, earthworks, industrial, mining, or infrastructure projects
- Experience preparing field reports and communicating directly with clients
- Current construction or industry safety certifications
WORK DETAILS

Compensation: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
