We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Crane Operator to join our team in Stony Plain.

Journeyman Crane Operator – Mobile Cranes & Picker Trucks

The successful candidate will have strong experience operating mobile cranes and picker trucks in a variety of job-site environments. This position requires a safety-focused professional who can operate equipment efficiently, perform thorough pre-use inspections, and work effectively with ground crews, riggers, and site supervisors.

Class 1 Driver’s Licence is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate mobile cranes, picker trucks, and related lifting equipment.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and identify/report mechanical or safety concerns.
- Safely lift, move, position, and place materials according to lift plans and site requirements.
- Read and understand load charts, lift plans, site drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Select and inspect appropriate rigging equipment and ensure loads are properly secured.
- Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and other crew members.
- Set up cranes safely, including proper positioning, leveling, outriggers, and ground conditions.
- Follow all company, site, provincial, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate equipment inspection and operating records.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure machines are kept clean and in safe operating condition.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience





- Journeyman Crane Operator certification.
- Proven experience operating mobile cranes and picker trucks.
- Valid crane operator certification/tickets applicable to the equipment being operated.
- Class 1 Driver’s Licence required.
- Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging practices, load charts, and lifting procedures.
- Experience working safely around construction, industrial, commercial, or oil & gas environments is an asset.
- Valid safety certifications such as Ground Disturbance, WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid, and/or other industry-required training are considered an asset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in changing job-site conditions.
- Clean and professional safety record.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around heavy equipment and active construction sites.
- Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
