Latium Security is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and dependable Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator to join our team in Nisku, Alberta.

This position is ideally suited for an individual who thrives in a technology-driven environment, maintains strong situational awareness, and can effectively manage multiple tasks while supporting security operations from a centralized monitoring centre.

The primary schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Applicants must also be available to provide coverage for statutory holidays, vacation periods, and other operational staffing requirements. Holiday coverage shifts may be scheduled on either days (06:00-18:00) or nights (18:00-06:00). For the right candidate, this position may lead to a full-time opportunity as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

- Security Monitoring & Incident Detection
- Monitor live video, and JSI alerts.
- Conduct virtual patrols and maintain situational awareness across monitored locations.
- Identify suspicious activities, safety concerns, and security incidents.
- Initiate appropriate response procedures in accordance with company and client protocols.

Alarm & Incident Response

- Receive and assess alarm notifications and system alerts.
- Coordinate responses with field personnel, clients, emergency services, and management when required.
- Escalate critical incidents according to established procedures.
- Document all actions accurately and in a timely manner.

Communication & Reporting

- Maintain professional communication with clients, security personnel, management, and emergency responders.
- Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and event logs.
- Provide accurate updates and information during active incidents.

System Operations





- Operate multiple monitoring and dispatch platforms simultaneously.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of monitoring systems.
- Report equipment, software, or system irregularities to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

Required

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to work within multiple software applications simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation to Nisku.
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Police Information Check as a condition of employment.

Preferred

- Previous experience in a Security Operations Centre, dispatch, alarm monitoring, control room, or customer service environment.
- Experience using Video management systems.
