Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator/Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CNC programming, and familiarity with CAD software will be essential in ensuring high-quality output. Responsibilities

- Primarily responsible for set up and operation of Okuma CNC lathe machines, ensuring accurate machining of characteristics based on technical drawings and specifications of proven family of production parts
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and correct tooling
- Program CNC lathes using Fanuc controls or similar systems to optimize machine performance
- Use precision measuring tools such as CMM, verniers and micrometers to verify dimensions and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety practices
- Assist with assembly, milling, or other related manufacturing tasks as needed to support production goals

Requirements

- Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing setting




- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency in CNC programming, particularly with Fanuc controls or similar systems
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Gibbs or general blueprint reading skills
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other machining equipment
- Ability to work safely and adhere to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, AS9100/ISO9001 and continuous improvement practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting

Preferred qualifications include experience with CNC milling machines, manual lathe set up and safe operation, mechanical assembly knowledge, and familiarity with manufacturing standards. Certification in forklift operation or welding is a plus but not required. A proactive attitude combined with strong attention to detail will help you excel in this role.

Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
