Banh Mi & Bites, a Vietnamese restaurant in Strathroy, Ontario, is seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to join our team on a permanent, FULL-TIME basis. The successful candidate will prepare and cook Vietnamese and fusion menu items to restaurant standards, working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Monitor and order supplies
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Manage kitchen operations
- May prepare and cook special meals for patrons with dietary restrictions

Qualifications

- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential




- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills
- Strong understanding of food handling safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Passion for the food industry with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Food Handler Certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
