Job Summary

Souk Tabule is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to support the kitchen team in leading back-of-house operations. The ideal candidate is a strong culinary professional with leadership experience, a keen eye for quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. As Sous Chef, you will assist in overseeing kitchen staff, maintaining food consistency, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

● Support the Kitchen leadership team in overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, and efficiency.

● Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.

● Assist in scheduling staff and managing labour costs to maintain efficiency.

● Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

● Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control food costs.

● Support menu execution, recipe adherence, and portion control.





● Work closely with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.

● Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring all tools and appliances are in proper working condition.

● Assist with problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

● Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a leadership role within a professional kitchen.

● Food Handler certification required; First Aid certification is an asset.

● Strong leadership and team management abilities.

● Ability to remain calm and maintain composure under pressure in a high-volume setting.

● Excellent knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen operations.

● Familiarity with Middle Eastern cuisine is an asset.

● Experience with labour cost control, staff scheduling, and inventory management.

● Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and food safety best practices.

● Effective communication and collaboration skills with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.

Employment Details

● Job Type: Full-time

● Work Schedule: Flexible availability required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

● Compensation: Competitive salary of $22.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience, plus tips.
