The Property Accountant position will be primarily responsible for completing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for several of Fitzrovia’s managed properties. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000, plus a competitive performance-based annual bonus, based on skills and experience. Final hiring decisions are made by Fitzrovia’s hiring team.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain timely and accurate financial records for various stakeholdersPerform monthly accounting close proceduresReceiving and verifying invoices for various projects and corporate subsidiariesPreparing daily transactions for all projects (wires, loan requests, etc)Reconciling vendor statements, researching, and correcting discrepancies,



as neededManaging credit card reconciliationsLogging cheques for distributionPreparing vendor cheques for mailingTrack monthly budget variancesSupport senior property accountants with requested financial analysis or retrieval of informationCash flow managementPrepare quarterly and annual compliance reportingPrepare monthly investor distributions / capital callsPerform other duties as requiredQualifications and ExperiencesCPA, CA or CPA or actively enrolled in the CPA program is considered a strong assetPost-secondary education with a specialty in Accounting or Business AdministrationAt least 2 years experience in a similar role and/or accounting and tax experience in a corporate environment is considered a strong assetExcellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet time sensitive deadlinesHighly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointProficiency in Yardi is considered a strong assetFlexibility to work outside of core hours when business needs dictateSelf-starter attitude with an ability to work in a fast-paced environmentHighest degree of integrity, honesty and commitment to professionalismWhy FitzroviaFitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
