The Caretaking Team is in need of a temporary Caretaking Team Lead for a year, to be their front‑line supervisor, who will guide and support the caretakers to ensure buildings are clean, safe, and properly maintained. This temporary role is a “working lead” who both coordinates the work and helps perform it. Routine duties will be assigned to this position on site and in satellite buildings.Position DetailsThe temporary Caretaking Team Lead oversees a team of caretakers responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and well‑functioning facilities. This role provides day‑to‑day direction, ensures service standards are met, and supports operational planning, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in caretaking operations.Required QualificationsHigh school diplomaAbility to operate, troubleshoot, and provide minor repairs on equipmentHolds a Forklift, Fall Protection and Boomlift certificateExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals, various departments and ability to mentor, coach, and guide the team in daily operations.Experience using cleaning equipment, chemicals, and floor‑care machinery (auto‑scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, etc.).Understanding of safety protocols, including WHMIS,



PPE usage, and hazard reporting.Comfortable using technology such as email, spreadsheets, or mobile apps for workflow.Dependable and proactive.Robust attention to detail.Service‑oriented, with a positive and professional approach.Commitment to teamwork and maintaining a respectful workplace.Preferred Qualifications3-5 years of experience in caretaking/custodial or facility maintenance work.WHMIS certification/First Aid/CPR (an asset)Experience using or managing digital work order systems or facility management software.Experience with inventory tracking, supply ordering, or vendor communication.Experience in filling out incident reports, and service quality notes.SalaryAUPE Class Level 8 Step 2 $29.28/hr.Culture of CareA Culture of Care at Lethbridge Polytechnic embraces a workplace that both protects and empowers employees by creating an environment that promotes psychological, cultural and physical safety.
