PositionMackenzie’s Multi-Asset Strategies Team is responsible for managing asset allocation for a variety of large multi-asset portfolios and for managing quantitative strategies used for equity alpha, global macro, and liquid alternative portfolios. Mackenzie Investments is hiring an intern for Fall 2026 (September – December) to work in Quantitative Research with the Multi-Asset Strategies Team. The candidate will support portfolio managers and researchers in developing quantitative models that drive asset‑allocation decisions and liquid‑alternative portfolios.ResponsibilitiesConduct research, build and enhance decision‑making tools, and back‑test investment strategies.Support portfolio managers and researchers, gaining practical insight into major asset classes such as stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities, and the macroeconomic linkages to these assets.RequirementsStrong academic performance with an undergraduate background in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, Economics, or Mathematics.Programming skills (e.G., Python, C, MATLAB).Practical experience with large datasets (asset data, market data) – experience considered an asset.Strong interest in financial markets and the ability to interpret economic news and market conditions.Knowledge of statistics, econometrics,



and forecasting techniques.Independent thinker, curious, with strong problem‑solving and creative thinking skills.Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work with a high degree of accuracy.Excellent Excel skills and experience with large, complex spreadsheets.Solid interpersonal skills with solid verbal and written communication.Ability to work well in a remote or in‑person team environment.CompensationExpected annual base salary range (prorated for the term): $49,000 – $51,000, determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location, and candidate’s skills, knowledge, and experience.
