Covenant Health is seeking a dynamic Manager, People Relations to provide strategic leadership to a team of consultants and advisors within a complex, multi-unionized healthcare environment. Reporting to the Corporate Director, Talent Acquisition & People Relations, this role is accountable for advancing a modern, responsive and values-driven People Relations function. This position will oversee the resolution of complex workplace matters, including investigations, while also shaping the evolution of our employee relations practices, moving to a model of proactive, innovative and strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will be able to guide the team through transformation and organizational change, champion continuous improvement and ensure consistent, legally sound and ethically grounded practices across the organization. This role is accountable for advancing a high-performing, innovative People Relations function that supports organizational transformation while ensuring legal compliance and ethical practice. The manager leads, coaches and develops team members, setting clear priorities,
allocating resources effectively and monitors service delivery to meet evolving organizational needs. They foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and adaptability, guiding the team through change and transformation with confidence and clarity. This position provides oversight and escalation support for high-risk, sensitive and complex employee relations matters, including grievances, investigations, discipline and performance management. The manager ensures fair, evidence-based outcomes and alignment with labour legislation, collective agreements and organizational policy through rigorous review and quality assurance practices. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, the manager designs and implements proactive employee and labour relations strategies that enhance engagement, strengthen workplace culture, mitigate risk and support organizational effectiveness. This role champions innovation modernizes processes and drives continuous improvement initiatives that move the function from transactional response to strategic partnership. The manager serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, provides expert guidance on complex workplace issues, develops and delivers education programs and ensures all practices reflect Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Advanced knowledge of labor laws, collective agreements, and conflict resolution strategies.Additional Required QualificationsProven ability to lead teams handling complex investigations and high-stakes employee relations issues. Exceptional leadership, coaching, decision making and team development skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining discretion and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work with a range of personalities and within an interprofessional environment. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment to develop and achieve shared goals and objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Understanding of the healthcare system from a corporate, HR standpoint and Commitment to Covenant Health Vision, Mission and Values.Preferred QualificationsCPHR Designation.
