Develop a career that provides a mix of local and global projects.About KCB Klohn Crippen Berger’s Power and Transportation Business Unit, based in Vancouver, provides engineering and environmental services through five integrated groups. The Business Unit is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to participate in various utility, mining, and infrastructure projects.ResponsibilitiesDesign and specify electrical equipment within industrial and utility facilities including:GeneratorsLow/medium voltage switchgearTransformersMotors and motor control centersDiesel generatorsControl panelsIndoor and outdoor lightingCables and cable raceway systemsGroundingPerform engineering calculations, including:Load flow and voltage dropCircuit breaker and fuse coordinationShort‑circuit and arc flashMotor startingBattery sizingCable sizing, pulling tension, and raceway fillLighting levelsLightning protectionGrounding, step and touch potentialsPrepare detailed drawings such as single line diagrams, equipment layouts, schematics and wiring diagrams,



grounding risers.Review technical submissions from vendors and contractors.Support construction as an engineer in the field for up to several weeks at a time.Participate in testing and commissioning.Write reports and present results.Ensure compliance with KCB’s Integrated Management System.Work well within a multidisciplinary team.QualificationsValid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s license.4+ year electrical engineering degree from a recognized Canadian university or equivalent with eligibility to register as an EIT with EGBC.0‑2 years engineering work experience (new graduates welcome).Excellent written and oral English communication skills.Strong technical writing abilities.Experience at utilities or industrial facilities is an asset.Ability to read and interpret industry standards including CSA, IEEE, and NEMA.Capability to understand other engineering disciplines and how they fit together within a multidisciplinary project team.Flexibility to travel and work in the field.ProjectsHydroelectric facilities, dams, and reservoirsOil sands and shale gas energy projectsPipeline infrastructureMining infrastructure including tailings disposal facilitiesSalary and Benefits Salary: $75,000 to $87,000 per year, based on experience, education, and skill level.Hybrid work opportunitiesAnnual performance and salary reviewPSMJ’s supported track record of profitability leading to above‑average bonus payoutsVacation policy aligning to your experiencePaid overtime and sick daysFlexible advantages, including RRSP, social, and mental well‑being initiativesCommitment to global ESG standardsEEO Statement KCB is a global organization committed to employment equity.
