Merchandise Operations Coordinator – 6‑Month Contract (Remote)Position Overview:Reporting to the Supervisor of Merchandise Operations, the Merchandise Operations Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining foundation level data in our merchandising and digital systems. The Coordinator creates and maintains all merchandising styles for brick‑and‑mortar, onboarding new online products, ensuring timely and accurate content setup, including image and copy. They also handle all merchandise purchase orders and collaborate cross‑functionally with many teams and vendors.Areas of Responsibility:Create and maintain all merchandising styles within the merchandising system, ensuring attention to detail and error mitigation.Complete tasks associated with onboarding new styles/products online and maintaining existing products online, ensuring timely and accurate content setup, including image and copy.Manage all tasks related to style and purchase order creation and maintenance.Maintain an accurate and updated tracker of workload assigned for weekly reporting.Monitor and action vendor requests, merchandising requests, vendor compliance requests.Operate as a liaison between internal buying teams and external vendor partners regarding the execution and communication of purchase order creation & maintenance.Maintain data integrity and ensure SOX compliance, providing thorough communication and record keeping through the lifecycle of purchase orders.Validate UPC codes; systematically link UPCto style either within Spice or manually.Offer recommendations and solutions for opportunities within the business process.Monitor and action Merchandise Operations email group (rotation assigned on calendar).Monitor and action Store Operations email group (rotation assigned on calendar) including enquiries regarding pricing, style information, etc., investigate potential issues, take appropriate corrective action,
and respond to originating requests in a timely manner.Work cross functionally with the Merchandise team – Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Supply Chain, Planning, Allocation, Vendor Compliance, Traffic (Imports), Ecomm/Marketing, and Logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely creation of styles and purchase orders, and to facilitate timely flow of quality goods to retail locations. Daily correspondence between these teams to respond to queries, troubleshoot issues, and resolve opportunities.Participate in the training of new associates (rotation assigned on calendar).Complete various administrative support functions, including clerical, reporting, and ad hoc projects for Merchandising and Supply Chain teams.General Skills Required:Post‑secondary education – preferably in Retail or Fashion.Work experience in the retail industry.Ability to work efficiently in a highly team‑oriented environment.Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize workload, and complete work with a sense of urgency, accuracy, and follow up in a fast‑paced environment.Ability to maintain accurate records and self‑edit daily work.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Adapts easily and positively to change and demonstrates flexibility.Strong math aptitude, data entry proficiency, and analytical skills.Experience with merchandising ERP, Bynder, Akeneo preferred.Customer‑centric focus, including a high degree of diplomacy when dealing with external partners, such as vendors, and internal cross‑functional teams.Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, OneNote, Teams).Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel.Pay:$43,000 per year.Equal Opportunity Employment:At Designer Brands Canada, we encourage you to be yourself and respect others for who they are.
