A full listing of our services can be viewed on our website at https://cotainspires.Ca/.Role OverviewThe Supportive Housing Worker is responsible for providing Recovery‑Oriented services to Cota clients in a manner consistent with Cota’s Mission, Vision and Values.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with the search for and acquisition of appropriate housing units.Coordinate intake processes including review of referral information, screening interviews, determination of eligibility, coordination of move‑in arrangements, and orientation of recent clients.Play an active lead role in ensuring that Support/Goal Plans are developed with each tenant and their support network, ensuring documentation in the client chart.Implement appropriate housing supports that assist clients in pursuing and achieving their goals; liaise with client support networks on a regular basis.Assist clients with Tenancy Related Matters such as rent payments, landlord disputes, reducing high‑risk behaviours, coping within a communal environment, and engagement within the tenant community.Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including medication routines, appointment reminders, personal hygiene, laundry, housekeeping, menu planning, grocery shopping, cooking, behavioural support, and other ADL supports as identified by the Supervisor and/or Team.Provide other individual support requirements such as community orientation, linking to case management and/or other services, dispute resolution, and informal counselling.Maintain a safe and clean environment through clearing vacant units, cleaning common areas, assisting with pest control, and assessing safety and security issues.Coordinate/facilitate tenant meetings to promote client participation,
and plan and facilitate group activities/events that foster engagement, social networks, and skill acquisition.Coordinate the purchasing of program supplies, maintain accurate records, and support outreach education to landlords and housing providers.Document all client contacts and interactions in the client chart and enter data into Cota’s database system.Participate in team meetings and provide input and ideas for improving services, efficiencies and program planning.Other ResponsibilitiesMaintain current certification and/or up‑to‑date training in identified required training areas.Adhere to all Cota's policies and procedures, applicable program guidelines, and the Ontario Human Rights Code.Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and respond promptly to concerns or incidents.Work cooperatively, respectfully and constructively with clients, team members, management, other service providers, and external stakeholders.Maintain client confidentiality at all times.Undertake other related or delegated duties as assigned.QualificationsCompletion of a Community College Diploma in Social Services, Community Work, Mental Health, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of related certified training and a minimum of 3 years of related or lived experience supporting individuals in housing, social services, or community‑based settings.Clinical knowledge relevant to the target population being served.Knowledge of community resources relevant to the target population and the ability to search for applicable resources.Ability to design and implement group activities and facilitate group meetings.Good crisis management and dispute resolution skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).Basic computer literacy (Word, e‑mail, Internet).Good judgment, the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others, and a non‑judgmental attitude.Consistent, reliable,
