Contracts ManagerRequisition ID: 98554Job Category: ProcurementLocation: Mississauga, ON, CanadaWe are looking for a Contracts Manager to lead a team of contract specialists across the entire lifecycle of EPCM projects, from pre-award through close-out. The role includes developing contracting strategies, negotiating terms, managing contract administration, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft contracting strategies in consultation with construction, project controls, engineering, project management, and other procurement team members, including pricing bases and contractor selection criteria for inclusion in the Project Execution Plan.Participate in developing the sourcing plan, final bidders list, and active management of the pre‑qualification process.Lead the contracting team toward the following objectives and deliverables.Implement the contract management plan, documented as part of the PEP.Manage processes within the appropriate procurement systems.Draft package plans and strategies and obtain client approval.Manage the bidding process.Review contract terms and conditions and recommend special terms and conditions as required in liaison with contract management.Prepare and award contracts for execution.Handover to site administration.Administer contract change control and manage contractual processes within the core system.Program monitoring and progress meetings.Payment certification.Claims administration.Develop, process,



and implement contractual documents and change notices timely.Administrate contracts in accordance with general contractual requirements.Maintain contract registers as per project instructions.Proactively manage and report forecasted final costs and cash‑flow contracts.Manage bonds/guarantees.Closeout and handover to the client.Ensure contractor performance evaluation application.Perform general managerial duties.Supervise, train, and assist team members.Conduct regular team meetings to discuss status and issues.Liaise with Procurement Manager to assess personnel needs.Communicate within project.Self‑assess team alignment to governance and procedural compliance.Assist Procurement Manager with resource planning.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Contracts/legal related training and general project and management training.Experience drafting commercial terms and conditions with understanding of legal implications.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and corporate governance principles.Knowledge of local market and contractors.Experience and understanding of contracting strategies.Proven managerial skills.Proven experience with contractor management.Knowledge of quality systems, environmental, health and safety regulations, and procurement system reporting tools.Excellent knowledge of contract change management,



including schedule changes.Experience with dispute resolution mechanisms.Prior site-based experience in the administration of construction contracts.Ability to fit into a team workplace and personal skills to complement teamwork development.Leadership skills.Preferred:Appropriate tertiary qualification.Legal or arbitration certification.International experience in a similar role.Base salary range: $115,000 – $165,000At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
