Adecco is currently hiring a Warehouse Associate for a full-time temporary opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for a reliable and physically capable individual who is comfortable working in an active warehouse and production environment. Previous warehouse or material handling experience is an asset, but not required, as on-the-job training will be provided.
In this position, you will support warehouse and production operations by loading and unloading materials, moving metal cages, scanning and tracking inventory, and preparing materials according to established workflows. This is a short-term assignment requiring a valid Reliability level government clearance.

- Pay Rate: $17.60 per hour | Increasing to $17.95 per hour after October 1

- Location: Ottawa, ON

- Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

- Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary

Responsibilities

- Load and unload metal cages and carts containing magazines, publications, and other materials safely and efficiently.

- Push and pull loaded metal cages between staging areas, production lines, docks, and storage locations.

- Accurately scan magazine and material barcodes using handheld scanners to track inventory, verify quantities, and support order and production processing.

- Sort, organize, and stage materials according to established production schedules and workflows.

- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor.

- Maintain accurate records of quantities processed using scanning equipment and manual logs as required.

- Keep work areas, cages, and equipment clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

- Follow all health and safety procedures related to manual material handling, including proper lifting and cage-handling techniques.

- Assist with general warehouse and production duties, including packing, labeling, and basic equipment operation.





- Collaborate with team members and proactively communicate workflow bottlenecks, equipment concerns, or other operational issues.

Requirements

- Must be eligible to work and reside in Canada.

- Must currently hold a valid Reliability level government clearance or have held one within the past 12 months.

- Previous warehouse, production, distribution, or material handling experience is considered an asset but is not required.

- Basic comfort using handheld scanning equipment and completing simple data entry.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when scanning and verifying materials.

- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established safety procedures.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to report discrepancies, equipment issues, and safety concerns.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

- Ability to frequently push and pull loaded metal cages requiring sustained physical effort.

- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, and reach while loading and unloading materials.

- Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 lbs, with occasional heavier lifting using proper techniques or team assistance.

- Manual dexterity to accurately and efficiently operate handheld barcode scanners.

- Comfortable working in an active production environment and safely maneuvering large cages around equipment and personnel.
