OverviewSkilled Trade - Electrician - Oakville, ON at Ford Motor Company. Electrician Journeypersons are paid a top hourly base rate of $53.00 plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. At Ford’s Oakville Assembly Complex, we are expanding and retooling our vehicle operations and shaping the future of vehicle manufacturing in Canada.ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all health and safety rules in compliance with government, industry, and corporate standardsMaintain equipment in a safe and efficient mannerAssist other trades/operators as requiredParticipate in the training of electrical apprentices as requiredParticipate in problem-solving meetings to help eliminate downtimeCoordinate die repair and preventative maintenance scheduling to meet job deadlinesGenerate and implement cost savings and process improvement suggestionsQualificationsBasic Qualifications:Must have completed a recognized apprenticeship and hold a Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) 309A / 442A (if a Certificate of Apprenticeship has not been attained, applicants with 8 years of experience in the trade after receiving the CofQ will be considered)Must be able to work all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights) on a rotating schedulePreferred Qualifications:Working knowledge with PLCs (e.G., Allen Bradley, RSLogix 5000, Square D, Control Logix) servo controls and variable frequency drives (e.G., Rockwell Powerflex)Proficient in reading electrical blueprints and ladder logic prints; knowledge of Ethernet, DH+,
and RS Links/LogicsStrong computer skillsExperience in industrial controls, conveyance systems, sub-stations, motor control centers, power distribution panels, electrical starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs)Experience with computerized maintenance management systemsExperience in a multi-disciplined fast-paced setting where Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment (SQDCPME) are the focusTroubleshooting electrical and robotic systems and equipment (e.G., Fanuc, Kawasaki, ABB, Siemens)Additional InformationNote: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained.
