Electrical Engineering Stoney Creek, OntarioSalary: CAD 50000.00 - 68000.00 AnnuallyGEI Consultants is seeking an Electrical Control Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of electrical and control systems design for infrastructure, water/wastewater, industrial, and municipal projects. You will collaborate closely with engineers, technologists, programmers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop detailed design packages, technical drawings, and specifications that meet regulatory standards and client requirements.ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical and control system designs for municipal and industrial facilitiesDevelop single-line diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawingsAssist in PLC and SCADA system design and documentationPerform power distribution calculations, load calculations, and equipment sizingSupport field investigations, site visits, and construction reviewsCoordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated design deliveryReview contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during constructionEnsure designs comply with Ontario electrical codes and standardsSupport preparation of technical specifications and cost estimatesMinimum QualificationsDiploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related discipline3+ years of experience in electrical/control system design (consulting environment preferred)Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit considered an asset)Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and SCADA platformsKnowledge of power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs),
and instrumentationFamiliarity with Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), IEEE and CSA standardsStrong communication and coordination skillsPhysical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.Preferred / Asset QualificationsExperience in water/wastewater treatment facilitiesExposure to Arc Flash studies and power system analysisExperience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure projectsEligibility for CET or P.Eng.
